The Mole goes a hunting!

Friday, 21 Nov, 2006 0

Yes, hard though it is to believe, The Mole took a little break away from the working the PC keys and Sydney city events, but as he has very short legs and works pretty close to the ground, he did not wander too far from home, taking a little trip to Sydney’s playground, the Hunter Valley and discovering what’s new there and in particular the new and very swish Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley.

I suppose that is what is so very appealing about the Hunter Valley, is that it is so close and easy to get to from Sydney, just a couple of hours away, so you do not arrive exhausted from the drive and getting back to Sydney does not kill you either, yet you feel you have made a quantum leap in time and speed of life.

Having visited the Hunter Valley many times, I was very pleased to see lots of changes during this visit, with what appeared to be a smartening up in general and many more new wineries and also no winery outlets and attraction and in particular restaurants popping up all over place offering quality local food – how sustainable this growth is we shall have to wait and see,

So, this “The Mole on the road” review of the Hunter Valley will consist of three parts, two published today, with the first looking at the fabulous new Crown Plaza Hunter Valley, the second a chat with the Crowne Plaza’s newly appointed all the way from Scotland GM, Neil Houghton and the final section tomorrow will be The Mole’s pick of things to do and see on a weekend in The Hunter – things that are of high quality and different and things not so good – The Mole will reveal the good, the bad and the very ugly of The Hunter Valley so make sure you tune in to TravelMole tomorrow!

So, in the meantime, hang on to your hats for a smashing weekend break to The Hunter!

A report from The Mole on the road in the Hunter!
