The Mole searches for Nemo!
With The Mole winging off on Air Tahiti Nui to the launch of Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland Resort, California next week reporting live everyday from the fun capital of the World, Clinton White, Marketing and Sales Director for Disney in Australia and New Zealand had chat with the Mole about Disney.
Amazingly, Australia’s passion for Disney has not waned at all in fact it has grown hugely and while Clinton could not give me figures for reasons of competitive confidentially, he did say that while the US is the largest market for Disneyland, after Canada and Mexico, Australia is the third largest.
Another interesting thing that he said they are seeing emerge is a shift in demographics out of Australia with Disneyland Resort appealing now to all ages not just families with children and grandparents taking their grandkids emerging as a segment, with Mum and Dad busy at work at home.
Repeat visitation is also growing significantly with the regular opening of new attractions driving this and encouraging visitors who have already been once or twice or even more times going back to see what’s new, for example after next week, the new and very exciting Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, which as you will all know of course, has great links with Australia and the Great Barrier Reef, creating a piece of Australia in the park.
Clinton said that they are also seeing kids that visited as kids now as adults and parents, bringing their kids to Disney land for their kids to experience the magic of Disney that they experienced and enjoyed so much in their childhood.
This broadening demographic has also influenced the media Disney has have invited on to the launch and also the ones that were successful in the application process with a broadening to even include Australian seniors publications, food magazines, not normally invited to Disneyland.
Watch this space next week for exciting reports by The Mole on location from Disneyland and from Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland Resort, while the Mole searches for Nemo!
