Theme Park industry association opens Orlando office
Theme Park advocacy group The International Association of Amusement Parks has opened a North American regional office and appointed a hospitality industry veteran to oversee operations.
IAAPA’s North American office is located in Orlando, FL, in an office provided by IAAPA member company Ripley Entertainment.
IAAPA also has regional offices in Hong Kong, Brussels and Mexico City.
Leading North American operations is newly appointed vice-president of North America Richard M. Jackson who brings a wealth of hospitality experience.
Jackson’s previous roles were at Universal Orlando Resort, Wyndham Vacation Resorts and Visit Florida.
IAAPA has established a North American Regional Advisory Committee to work closely with US state and regional industry associations on regulatory requirements, and to boost IAAPA awareness and membership in Canada.
The Association was founded in 1918 and is largest international trade body for permanently sited amusement facilities worldwide.
It represents the interests of more than 4,500 members including zoos and aquariums, museums and science centers, water parks, and theme parks.
IAAPA Attractions Expo takes place in Orlando from November 18 – 21 which annually attracts almost 1,000 theme park industry exhibitors.
