Third of online travel will be ‘dynamically packaged’
Dynamic packaging will account for more than a third of the UK online travel market in two years, according to a recent report.
Dynamic packaging sales were estimated to have totalled up to £162 million in the UK last year, representing up to 3.8% of the £4.3 billion sales posted by the UK online travel market.
This figure is projected to grow by up to £740 million in 2005, according to online booking solution providers, Mulitcom, which carried out the study.
Working on these growth figures and taking into account stock market reports and industry forecasts, Mulitcom claims this figure will grow to £2.4 billion by 2007, representing a 34% chunk of the estimated £7.2 billion UK online travel market.
“Agents who decide to ignore dynamic packaging online will find themselves competing within an ever declining market,” said Multicom managing director Rob Howell.
