Thistle chases Indian market with sales tie-up
UK hotel chain Thistle Hotels is targeting the expanding Indian market by signing an agency sales agreement with The Nijhawan Group.
The deal will see the Indian-based sales and marketing company promote and sell Thistle through its eight offices.
Closer ties are being forged between UK and Indian companies following the liberalisation of air links which has seen BA, bmi, virgin and Jet Airways all increase flights to and from Delhi and Mumbai.
“London is already the most popular destination for the Indian traveller and we see potential from the additional flight capacity,” said Nijhawan Group managing director Ankush Nijhawan.
Thistle sales director Jennifer Charlton described India as a “growing market” for the chain.
“This tie up ensures expert representation throughout key cities across the sub-continent,” she said.
