Thomas Cook adds gimmick to calculate holiday spending

Thomas Cook has added a new gimmick to its website so customers can calculate how much they’ll spend on holiday.

The ‘Holiday Budget Calculator’, featured on the website, will total the average cost of holiday essentials such as beer, wine or a three course meal in a variety of different tourist hotspots.

Mike Hoban, sales, marketing & ecommerce director, Thomas Cook UK & Ireland said: " Whether they’re staying self catering, half board or even all inclusive and want to discover a little local culture outside of a resort where food and beverage is included, the new Holiday Budget Calculator app is a fantastic, visual way for our customers to work out how much spending money they’ll want to take abroad before even travelling."
