Thomas Cook goes more upmarket in latest 2012 brochures
Thomas Cook has launched the latest editions of its summer 2012 brochures, adding more properties to its upmarket Style range and additional family destinations.
The operator is featuring a total of 83 new properties in its Style brochures, including 16 new four and five-star properties within Adult Style, 23 new hotels in Holidays with Style and 33 new properties in Villas with Style.
The operator has also expanded into Cape Verde for summer 2012, having started selling the island for the first time this winter, adding two hotels to its Spain and Portugal brochure.
In Greece, next year's most affordable destination according to online retail On the Beach, 30 new properties have been added. On the Beach said many hoteliers in Greece have slashed their prices for next summer, with Santorini now the best value holiday destination.
On the Beach claimed hotel rates on the Greek island were down 27% year on year; in Kefalonia, prices are down 17%, it said. Prices in Tenerife and Alicante are down 20% compared with summer 2011 while five-star hotels in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh are charging 16% less than last summer, according to its research.
Thomas Cook is also offering a wider choice of weddings in Turkey and Italy and, for the first time, blessings for same-sex couples in Mexico as well as Cyprus.
Youth brand Escapades has 19 new properties and Malta, home of the MTV Music Festival, has been added as a new destination for summer 2012. Due to popular demand, Tenerife has been reintroduced.
