Thomas Cook sets up DMC in Thailand
Thomas Cook Group has signed an agreement with destination management company Asian Trails to create a new joint venture in Thailand.
Launching on November 1, Thomas Cook In Destination Management (Thailand) will arrange holidays for more than 100,000 Thomas Cook customers who visit Thailand every year.
It follows similar operating models already in place in Spain, Portugal and the US.
"Working with a single partner to create our own DMC, based in this important destination for the Group, means that we can take greater control of the quality and consistency of service all our customers will have during their holiday," said Michael Scheidler, group destination management director at Thomas Cook.
"We already have a successful partnership with Asian Trails in the UK and look forward to building on that for the benefit of our customers from all countries."
The new company will have its head office in Bangkok, with an operation hub set to open in Phuket.~
Thomas Cook said representatives from both companies are now working together to finalise the preparations, structure and begin recruitment ready for the winter 2018/19 season.
