Thomas Cook to launch new flights from Midlands

Thomas Cook will base a fourth aircraft at Birmingham from next summer, enabling it to launch new flights to Greece and Djerba and a daily service to Dalaman in Turkey.

Its three Boeing 757s at the airport will be replaced by three Airbus A321s and the fourth will be an Airbus A320, giving the airline an extra 47,000 seats from the Midlands.

Over the last few months, Thomas Cook Airlines has added six A321s to its UK fleet, and three more will join the fleet next year.  

From Birmingham, the new flights are to Mytilene and Kalamata in Greece, and Djerba in Tunisia as well as a new daily service to Dalaman in Turkey, Thomas Cook’s most popular destination.

The airline will also offer increased frequencies to Zante, Mahon, Bodrum, Antalya, Izmir,
