Thomas Cook chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa has revealed that the operator is to open as many as 30 new shops this year.
Fontenla-Novoa made the announcement at this year’s ITT conference in Benidorm.
The news comes hot on the heels of the revelation that it also plans to open 30 new Going Places branches.
Fontenla-Novoa said the strategy for new outlets reflected a reality that web sales had gone flat and that early booking was still made primarily through the high street.
