Thomson Airways pushes ATOL cover
Thomson is to promote passenger protection ATOL cover provided by Thomson Airways flights to counter competition from budget scheduled carriers.
The move comes as Thomson and First Choice unveil a range of early booking offers and launch a national advertising campaign for both brands.
Customer director Tim Williamson said: “Our recent annual results showed record profits and as Europe’s largest travel company we are financially robust.
“However, customers are confused about financial protection. They just don’t realise that when they book a flight direct with a scheduled or low cost airline, they are taking a gamble with their hard earned money.
“We want to send a clear message that they can choose to book with a company who will look after their money or they can book with a low cost carrier and keep their fingers crossed.”
