Thomson offers taster cruise

Friday, 16 Jan, 2012 0

Thomson is offering a one-night taster cruise from Newcastle to Harwich, which it hopes will encourage more customers to give cruising a try.

The 16-hour trip, which costs from £99 including meals and a return coach transfer, departs Tyneside on August 2 and arrives in Essex on August 3, passing Tynemouth, Seaham, Whitby, Flamborough Head, Humber, California, Southwold and Felixstowe en route.

Thomson Cruises managing director Fraser Ellacott said: "For those customers that have thought about a cruise holiday, but are not quite sure what to expect, our one-night taster cruise gives Brits the opportunity to experience a cruise, right from their doorstep."

A Thomson spokeswoman said Thomson was offering the one-night cruise as it needed to reposition the Spirit from Newcastle to Harwich. It did the same in 2009, when it last operated out of both ports.
