Thomsonfly to launch 15 routes next winter
Seven new routes from Manchester will be introduced by Thomsonfly as part of an expanded schedule for winter 2007-08.
Other services from Doncaster, Cardiff, Gatwick, Luton and Birmingham will also be added as the low cost carrier introduces 15 new routes.
The seven new winter destinations are being launched from Manchester are Lisbon, Venice, Naples, Faro, Funchal (Madeira), Paphos and Sharm El Sheikh with flights starting on October 28.
Jersey will be served from Cardiff and Luton while Paphos in Cyprus will also have flights from Birmingham and Gatwick.
In addition to the new routes, Winter 2007/8 tickets also go on sale today (Thursday) for 55 winter routes from 10 airports.
Prices start at £19.99 one-way from Manchester to Venice, Cardiff-Jersey and Luton-Jersey, rising to Manchester-Sharm El Sheikh at £79.99.
The airline’s commercial director Guy Stephenson said: “Based on the popularity of existing flights, we’ve added a range of winter destinations including those offering mild climates such as Jersey, Lisbon and Venice, and destinations great for guaranteed sunshine including Sharm El Sheikh and Gran Canaria.
“The introduction of Lisbon, Venice and Naples to our winter schedule means that customers who have flocked to these services this summer can make plans with confidence that Thomsonfly can serve their travel needs year round.
“High frequency flights, low prices and flexibility are the continued key to our success in meeting customer demand”.
