Three Carnival ships on charter for APEC Summit in Papua New Guinea
Three Carnival Corp ships will be chartered to house delegates visiting the 2018 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Papua New Guinea next month.
A trio of ships from P&O Cruises Australia and Princess Cruises will provide accommodation for APEC attendees in Port Moresby.
They are P&O’s Pacific Jewel and Pacific Explorer, as well as the Sea Princess from Princess Cruises.
The event is hosting about 10,000 delegates, media and government officials from APEC’s 21 member countries.
"Carnival Australia has established a strong relationship with Papua New Guinea and its people and is proud to have included eight destinations in Papua New Guinea on its itineraries from Australian-based ships since 2013," said Carnival Australia Executive Chairman Ann Sherry.
"Supporting Papua New Guinea in the hosting of the APEC Summit in November is an extension of our relationship, and we look forward to playing our role in making the 2018 APEC a success."
The APEC Summit concludes with the Economic Leaders’ Meeting on November 18, which will be attended by Presidents, Prime Ministers and other senior leaders and diplomats.
