Time for tea at 35,000ft
Claiming the title of ‘Highest High Tea in the World’, an afternoon tea service has been introduced into Virgin Atlantic’s new Upper Class meal service.
Belinda Gurd, regional PR manager for Virgin Atlantic, said the Upper Class meal service includes new Coup champagne glasses, designer cutlery, new menu "and the iconic afternoon tea trolley, to bring the romance and glamour back to flying".
She said it is "a perfect excuse for our passengers to experience something totally different at 35,000 feet".
The Virgin Atlantic High Tea is presented on a two-tiered stand and consists of scones with jam and cream, mini cupcakes and finger sandwiches.
To complete the service passengers are offered a selection of herbal and fruit teas.
The High Tea meal service will be served on-board Virgin’s A340-600 which flies from Sydney to London daily via Hong Kong.
