Tobago in awareness drive
Tobago has launched a new trade and consumer marketing campaign as it sees a growth in visitor numbers.
International tourism arrivals rose by 19% in January and February 2014 compared to 2013 and the wedding market has doubled in 2014.
Tobago has also confirmed twice weekly British Airways flights from October 26and a second direct Monarch flight December 16 2014.
The ad campaign, ‘Live the Culture Tobago Style’, which includes two separate branding identities – canary yellow for the trade and magenta for consumers, is to raise awareness.
Avion Hercules, marketing manager for the Division of Tourism and Transportation at the Tobago House of Assembly, said: "We are looking at significantly increasing our presence in the market."
Tourism represents 47% of Tobago’s gross domestic product and is the second largest employer on the island.
