Toddler smuggled onto flight in handbag
A toddler was found hidden in hand luggage taken on a flight from Istanbul to Paris.
The child was spotted by another passenger, who saw something wriggling in the bag brought onboard by a female passenger.
Air France has confirmed the incident but the airline said it was unable to provide further details, however French authorities have confirmed the woman was arrested when the flight landed at Charles de Gaulle late on Monday night.
One passenger described the child as ‘a baby aged between one and two’.
Air France said the child was travelling without a ticket. Children under two fly for free, but they must have valid travel documents.
