Tokyo top destination for solo holidays
Planet Cruise has revealed a 36% surge in adults considering solo holidays this year.
Independent cruise travel agency Planet Cruise has curated an in-depth travel index revealing the best destination for solo travelers.
It factored in elements such as safety, group activities and cost-effectiveness.
It found Tokyo grabbed the top spot for solo travelers, thanks to its safe streets, as well as the rich culture, modern amenities and attractions.
Prague was second most popular for solos, and Beijing took third place.
Tokyo stood out for its high safety levels, over 10,000 attractions, and a vast array of 1,000 group tours available.
Other prominent Asian cities Shanghai, and Bangkok also made the top 10 list, thanks to their culture, history and modernity.
For budget-friendly solo holidays, Pattaya and Chiang Mai in Thailand, and Hanoi, Vietnam scored highly.

Planet Cruise’s dataset ranked a total of 56 global cities on their suitability for solo travelers using a set of six different criteria.
