Tom Allen drafted in to aid troubled Cadogan
Well known industry figure Tom Allen has been drafted in to head up the day-to-day management of Cadogan Holidays following the suspension of managing director Gary David.
Allen was formerly with the Walt Disney Company before launching his own online travel company and helping establish Keith Prowse Tours, part of the Keith Prowse Group.
He will take the role of interim manager.
David was suspended last month from the specialist operator, pending an internal investigation which is believed to centre on alleged financial irregularities.
David’s son, Dahl, a reservations consultant, has also left the company although he is not thought to be part of the investigation.
Sources said he had been sacked although the company would only confirm he was no longer working at Cadogan.
Another close colleague of David’s, Denise Connelly, who left last summer but was due to return, will no longer be re-joining the company.
Cadogan Holidays chairman and managing director of parent company the Bland Group, James Gaggero, said: “The Bland Group has recruited industry consultant Tom Allen as interim manager, responsible for the day-to-day management of Cadogan Holidays and Cadogan Travel.”
He added that Allen had the necessary attributes to lead the company forward.
