Tough day for airline shares

There were manly downward moves for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity markets went into reverse.

The FTSE 100 lost 15.4 points to close at 4945.4, while the FTSE 250 fell sharply, dropping 80.7 points to end the day at 7163.4.

Following a positive day on Wednesday, airline shares had a tough session. The biggest fall was at Ryanair, which lost 9.625p to end the day at 418p.
