Tour operator: Egypt is friendly again
After an eight-month suspension of Egyptian tours, Friendly Planet Travel announced that it is again sending travelers there with two additional tours.
Their latest tour is “A Taste of Egypt and Nile River Cruise.” Other previous tours include “Pyramids and Nile Cruise” and “Nile River Cruise.”
“Friendly Planet ceased all tours to Egypt in February 2011 due to political unrest,” the company says. “After eight months of situation-monitoring, on-going safety evaluations, and conversations with contacts on the ground, Friendly Planet is confident that Egypt is ready for tourists to return.”
“A Taste of Egypt” and “Nile River Cruise,” the first of Friendly Planet's repertoire of programs to Egypt, is priced at US$1,599. Travelers can depart as early as Oct. 3. The trip includes eight days of visiting cities, deserts and rivers in that country. The trip includes three nights in a five-star hotel in Cairo, and a three-night Nile cruise.
Another soon to be unveiled Egypt program is “Pyramids and Petra.” Travelers will have eight days to explore both Egypt and Jordan. Travelers can opt for a four-day Dead Sea extension in Jordan.
