Tour operator reports 40% upturn in Egypt bookings
On the Go Tours has reported a 40% upturn in bookings to Egypt with business expected to return to normal in the next few months.
The tour operator, which specialises in cultural group tours to Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the White desert and Alexandria, reports the booking boost in the last couple of months after a difficult 18 months.
"Every week our passenger numbers for traditional Nile touring are increasing," said Pru Goudie, spokesman for On the Go Tours.
"If this upturn continues then we can expect business to return to normal within the next four to six months. After a difficult 18 months this is most encouraging, particularly for the many local Egyptians who have suffered dreadfully due to the lack of tourism."
