Tourico Holidays launches group travel bidding service

Wednesday, 05 Mar, 2015 0

Global travel distribution wholesaler Tourico Holidays has launched a new Group Bidding Engine allowing hotels to competitively bid for business from agents and travel distributors.

Agents submit specific group travel requests and selected hotels have a 24-hour window to bid.

The real-time marketplace allows travel agents to bundle requests including accommodations, group transfers, activities, and attractions.

"The Group Bidding Engine simplifies the reservation process and encourages healthy competition – revolutionizing the way group travel is booked by agents and quoted by hotels," said Ofir Cohen, executive vice president of global activities and groups for Tourico Holidays.

"Tourico clients will have the ability to specifically choose all of their desired trip details and then review hotel bids over the next day as they come in at real-time."

With the Group Bidding Engine, clients can search by destination, number of rooms, the check-in and checkout dates, and star ratings.

Results can be filtered based on criteria such as location, price, hotel names and brands, and amenities.

Agents then have the option to select up to seven hotels from which they would like to receive price quotes.

The automated system notifies the selected hotels and allows hotels to adjust rates multiple times to secure the business within the 24-period.

Agents then have the option to book add-on services such as specific transfers, activities, and attractions to the reservation.

"We’ve created a transparent, convenient one-stop process that is beneficial for both travel clients and supplier partners," Cohen said.

"We’ve been a leader in group travel for over two decades and no one has better technology, or a more highly trained team of professionals that are capable of delivering quick, reliable, and affordable group packages than Tourico."
