Tourico Holidays reports big surge in Asia Pacific hotel bookings
Travel wholesaler Tourico Holidays is touting a huge 93% annual rise in Asia-Pacific hotel bookings in 2017.
The Indonesia market is leading the way with bookings for hotels in the country up 111% this year, followed by China (+88%), Singapore and Malaysia.
Australia and Thailand hotels also saw sharp rises in booking volume.
Tourico also says domestic travel within Asia-Pacific has more than doubled so far in 2017.
"The Asia-Pacific travel market has advanced at an unprecedented rate in 2017 – and there are no real signs of a slow-down," said Hillary Wang, regional director of product development in North Asia for Tourico Holidays.
"Travel suppliers serving the Asia-Pacific market should expect consistent, diversified demand to countries throughout the region."
"With travellers from all of the primary source markets booking product in Asia-Pacific, our network of distribution clients can be confident that Tourico will continue to add a diversified portfolio of hotels throughout the market," Wang said.
Tourico said nearly every regional source market was up, and all contributed to the soaring growth in APAC.
Bookings from Europe surged 93% and North America was up by more than half, driven predominantly by the Canadian market.
Tourico Holidays is showcasing its product offerings including hotels, cruises, activities and transfers, car rentals, and vacation homes at ITB Asia in Singapore from October 25-27.
