Tourism and Sports Minister to boost tourists’ confidence
Mr. Suwit said that one of the most important tourism plans is to boost the confidence of tourists in relations to their safety, particularly concerning the natural disasters that they may experience in future.
Thus, government officials and the private sector have to work on this issue immediately. Meanwhile, he said the Ministry of Tourism and Sports may have to coordinate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in restoring and developing tourist destinations in the country.
Moving to the sports policies, Mr. Suwit will focus of the cooperation with various associations, media, and members of the public. He said the National Sports Council may also be established, in which representatives from the private and public sectors and associations will determine the policies.
However, these policies must comply with the policies of Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont, such as the policies to promote trade with Eastern Europe and Middle East since Thailand has received more tourists from these regions.
