Tourism Society close to naming CE
The Tourism Society has named David Curtis-Brignell as its new chairman and will shortly name its chief executive.
Mr Curtis-Brignell, marketing director at Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, has been a Tourism Society Board member for 20 years. He takes over from Graham Wason, who leaves as the post is rotated every three or four years.
According to a Tourism Society spokeswoman, the organisation is close to announcing its new chief executive. They will take over from current director, Adrian Clark, who is retiring. The job pays £30,000 plus bonuses.
The Tourism Society aims to support the tourism industry by providing training and education and promoting sustainable tourism. During the recent AGM in Liverpool three new board members were announced: Linda Astbury (RAC), Julia Clark (Le Meridien Hotels) and Jason Triandaffylou (Senior King).
