Tourist seriously injured after falling into a burning sinkhole
An Australian tourist is in hospital with serious injuries after falling into a sinkhole in New Zealand. It append at Whakarewarewa Maori Village when a hot water sinkhole opened up.
She is in a critical condition with serious burns. Pictures showed heavy steam coming out of the open sinkhole.
The geothermal hotsprings village was closed to visitors after the incident.
Health and safety agency WorkSafe is investigating the incident.
