Tourists flocking to Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia is on a roll as tourist arrivals continue to soar month by month.
Latest statistics from Tourism Malaysia reveal 10.69 million tourists arrived on the country’s shores between January to June this year, a whopping 24.8% increase from 8.56 million for the same period last year.
This means Malaysia is set to achieve its target of 21 million tourist arrivals for its ongoing Visit Malaysia Year.
The top 10 tourist generating markets from January until June 2007 were Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, China, India, Japan, Philippines, Australia and the United Kingdom.
