Tragic airport accident kills baggage handler
An airport accident killed an airline worker who was ‘ingested into the engine’ of an aircraft.
The incident happened at Montgomery Regional Airport, Alabama.
It involved an Embraer 170 which was parked at a gate with an engine on.
“A preliminary report is expected in two to three weeks,” the NTSB said.
The worker was employed by American Airlines subsidiary Piedmont Airlines.
KRLD radio reported the ground worker was a baggage handler.
