Trailfinders leaves ABTA for Travel Trust Association
The Travel Network Group has announced that Trailfinders Ltd has joined the group as a member of TTA.
Trailfinders is one of the world’s best-known and highly respected travel brands that has been operating across the UK since 1970 and today has 34 travel centres, serving some 445,000 clients a year.
With a turnover of £720m per annum, Trailfinders will become TTA’s largest member.
Trailfinders will be transferring its trust account model and full ATOL to the TTA allowing them to achieve all of their financial protection requirements and, in the process, benefit from significant cost savings.
Its move to TTA will also allow Trailfinders to be completely compliant under the new BE1S Trust Account requirements recently introduced as part of the new PTR regulations.
Gary Lewis, CEO of The Travel Network Group said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome Trailfinders to the TTA family.
"Toby Kelly, CEO, approached us some months ago and was impressed with what we offer, how we approach and solve challenges and deliver on the promises we make."
He added: "Chairman and founder of Trailfinders, Mike Gooley, and his team demonstrated real entrepreneurial foresight when they implemented their own trust model in 1993, the year when TTA was established, and the trust account they created back then has been the cornerstone of the guarantees and trusted relationships they have built with their clients and suppliers since this time.
"Their move to TTA will allow them to significantly reduce their ATOL Air Passenger Contribution (APC) fees, whilst supporting their financial protection and compliance requirements."
Lewis added: "The values and ethos that Trailfinders drive in their business perfectly matches with ours and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship,"
The TTA has been operating for 25 years this year.
