Trans-Atlantic tie-in for joint MICE events
Two major venues on either side of the Atlantic are joining forces to market dual conference events simultaneously.
The New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) and the Science Museum in London have teamed up with the aim of targeting scientific and technology clients for large-scale meetings taking place at both venues concurrently.
The partnership’s goal is to secure contracts for large-scale conferences, product launches and awards ceremonies.
"This collaboration with the Science Museum will give our clients greater flexibility and enable both venues to attract an even broader array of meetings and events," said NYSCI vice president of external affairs Dan Wempa.
Although the five-hour time difference between the cities presents some challenges, technology is in place at both venues to support simultaneous events.
Both have the infrastructure for live streaming and are able to connect by video and audio link, along with stable Wi-Fi connections.
Last year the Science Museum in London saw a 160% spike in major event bookings after completing a $2.5 million upgrade of its IMAX cinema and the opening of a new multimedia meetings space.
