Travel 2’s Farrimond to join Tourism Australia

Thursday, 12 Mar, 2009 0

Travel 2 marketing director Alasdair Farrimond is leaving to take up a similar position with Tourism Australia.

He is being replaced at the long haul tailor-made operator by Charlie Bateson as head of marketing.

He moves from Hays Travel where he was head of web and direct marketing and was formerly marketing director at Trailfinders.

Bateson takes charge of the trade-only operator’s marketing and promotional function from March 23.

Andrew Botterill, UK managing director of Travel 2 parent Stella Travel Services, said: “We have been working hard since the turn of the year to reinforce the trade credentials that Travel 2 is famous for and Charlie is committed to helping us push this initiative forward.

“His travel marketing experience, and knowledge of both the tour operator and agency environment should prove invaluable and we are delighted to welcome him aboard.

“That said, we’re also very sad to say goodbye to Alasdair. He has done an outstanding job for Travel 2 and leaves with our very best wishes.”
