Travel agents vote for where they want to party
Ibiza might have lost its ‘cool’ edge after becoming the destination choice of ‘fuddy-duddies’ like former PM David Cameron and ex-opposition leader Ed Miliband, but it’s still where the majority of you want to party.
Thomas Cook claimed earlier this month that young clubbers were eschewing the Spanish island in favour of the cheaper Greek islands. It said its bookings data showed that the 18-29 market to Ibiza was declining while bookings for 30 to 39 years olds were on the rise.
Particularly popular among youngsters is Zante’s Laganas Strip, according to Cook, which it claimed is ‘one of Europe’s most popular party hotspots for the under 25s who don’t see the appeal of Ibiza and are on a tighter budget’.
However, when TravelMole readers were asked where they wanted to party in a recent poll, 59% chose Ibiza over Zante, which shows that either Thomas Cook is wrong and the Balearic island has lost none of its appeal amongst young clubbers – or you’re all old ‘fuddy-duddies’.
