The Travel Industry Golf Society grandees (TIGS) travelled to the Sussex coast last Friday to take on the arrivistes of the Travel Alternative Golf Society at the Dyke Golf Course.
In fine but blustery downland conditions 12 members of each society battled it out in six separate four-ball better ball matches.
The day itself a result of a conversation held at the Virgin Atlantic Challenge last year in Miami between Michael Robinson and TravelMole’s Graham McKenzie.
After four matches the establishment of the travel golfing fraternity were sitting comfortably in the club house quaffing ale with a three to one advantage.
Two magnificent victories in the last two matches for TAGs however drew the two societies level and the contest was declared a draw.
