Travel Network Group hails rapid growth in membership
The Travel Network Group processed 31 successful new membership applications in October, the highest number since August 2011, when it activated 27.
The group said the majority of the new applicants were for Travel Trust Association membership but the number also included membership applications for all its brands: Worldchoice, Worldchoice Plus and Independent Travel Experts.
CEO Gary Lewis said: "The fact that we are hitting such high levels of new applications is a very positive sign for the industry and for us as a group. It’s a strong signal that our industry continues to be an attractive business proposition and that as a group we have membership propositions that are meeting the needs of existing travel providers and new entrants."
Group membership services director Lisa Henning added: "The mainstream travel consortia offering has changed in the last few years. What members now want is not only access to a strong set of commercial deals with suppliers, that’s a given. They also want help, guidance and support to grow their business and this lies at the heart of our proposition."
Henning said the group’s membership of the Institute of Customer Service and the growth of its in-house recruitment team in the last 24 months were two major initiatives helping its expansion.
"We have virtually transformed our business in recent years following our membership of the ICS and we know that our existing members are talking so highly of us that this naturally plays a big role in recruiting new members, as does the success of the recruitment days we have hosted."
