Travel recruitment slows in June
The number of new travel jobs being made available fell slightly at the start of summer, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.
The total fell by a small 2% from May 2024 but by 26% from June 2023.
Similarly, the number of candidates searching for new travel jobs fell by 22% last month.
This comes after reaching a 2024-high in May.
There was also a double-digit decrease in the number of people being placed in new travel jobs
Barbara Kolosinska, MD at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “Summer is always a slow period for travel recruitment with many potential jobseekers and decision makers away on holiday.“
Kolosinska also acknowledged the Euros, Wimbledon and the Paris Olympics has likely led to the slowdown in recruitment.
“The run-up to a general election also always quietens the jobs market. Now that the votes are in and we have a new government in place, we envisage that things may pick-up as we enter the peak of summer.”
