Travel Republic head office re-opens after two deep cleans
Travel Republic will re-open its head office in Kingston today after two deep clean cycles.
It closed on Tuesday after a member of staff tested positive for the coronavirus.
The office was shut down as soon as the case came to light and around 300 staff were sent home. Calls were diverted to the Lancashire customer service centre.
The member of staff who has contracted the virus was office based, not a sales person on the road.
On the advice of health authorities, the company has stopped all travel between its offices and restricted movement between areas in its other offices.
Key operational functions, including sales and customer service, were re-routed to other areas of the organisation, and flexible working arrangements made for business-critical members of staff.
The company said it has also been reiterating NHS hygiene advice to all staff and visitors.
"We are fortunate that our business continuity plan enabled Travel Republic to operate as normal during this period, but we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the office," said a spokesman.
"We want to thank our partners in the trade for their support."
