There were mixed performances from travel industry shares yesterday as London’s main equity markets managed to make small gains. The FTSE 100 index rose 19.8 points to 4379.6 after three days of losses, while the broader-based FTSE 250 added 10.9 points to close at 5775.1. Best performer was the cruise operator Carnival, which gained a massive 93p to close at 2160p after dealers recommended the stock ahead of results tomorrow.
