Travel industry shares struggled to make much headway yesterday, despite the fact that London’s main indices managed to push ahead. The FTSE 100 index gained 0.4% in value, closing 15.8 points to the good at 4354.7, while the FTSE 250 gained 19.7 points to end the day at 5711.8, a rise also equivalent to 0.4%. It was one of the busiest days of the year so far, with 4.1 billion shares changing hands.
