The Travel Industry Soul Society is one year old and the recent birthday party turned out to be the biggest night so far.
The DJ duo of Phunkin Phursdays’ kept the crowd happy with an eclectic mix of soul sounds from the last 50 years.
The highlight of the night at the London venue Jerusalem was the announcement of the travel industry’s top three soul sounds of all time voted for supports of the society.
1. Joy & Pain (Live version) – Frankie Beverly & Maze
2. Superstition – Stevie Wonder
3. Never Too Much – Luther Vandross
DJMJ (aka Nigel McShine-Jones) was delighted with the evening.
“Once again the travel industry has shown it calibre for having a good time,” he said.
“Despite the fact that there were competing events we were delighted with the numbers.”
The other half of the Phunky team Anthony Martin added: ‘We have only been going for 12 months and we already have a dedicated following
“This next year we hope to add other locations to our portfolio including Scotland and possibly an overseas gig.”
TravelMole, Phunkin Phursdays’ official media partner, will be announcing new dates shortly.
