TravelMole becomes WTM technology media partner
TravelMole has been named official travel technology media partner for World Travel Market.
The partnership comes as WTM enhances its focus on the sector at this year’s show.
WTM organiser Reed Travel Exhibition plans a 25% larger travel technology area at the show, which is being held on November 14-17 at the ExCel exhibition centre in London’s Docklands.
Overall, WTM expects to grow by more than four per cent over last year when it attracted more than 45,000 visitors and 5,105 exhibitors, according to exhibition director Fiona Jeffery.
She said that TravelMole’s international reach, speed and ability to communicate key messages to the travel technology community were important factors behind the partnership.
Explaining the tie-up with TravelMole, Ms Jeffery said: “In developing a strong technology focus, we wanted to pull in key partners to develop in line with what the industry wants.
“We felt that TravelMole best fitted that bill because it enables us to communicate with the sector online.”
She added: “One of the strengths of WTM is that it reflects what is going on in the industry and as far as possible we like to be ahead of the game. There’s no question that travel technology is a key driver and should have a strong industry focus.”
The expanded travel technology area at this year’s WTM would be a “show within a show”, Ms Jeffery explained.
Expedia is to exhibit at the event for the first time this year as part of the expanded travel technology area.
The hotel and airline sectors are also being enhanced at this year’s show with debates involving CEOs from both industries in addition to other activities.
