TravelMole partner Travel + Leisure Australia crosses the Tasman
Fairfax Magazines, publisher of Travel + Leisure Australia and TravelMole partner, has announced the expansion of Travel + Leisure Australia into New Zealand.
The magazine, which will be distributed in New Zealand to American Express Credit Card members, will run the same editorial features as the Australian edition and will be titled Travel + Leisure Australia + New Zealand.
“We have been working on this initiative for six months and are very excited to be extending our title into the New Zealand market,” Peter Bakker, associate publisher, Travel + Leisure Australia said.
“Advertisers will now be able to reach affluent New Zealand readers. They will also have the choice to either run the same advertisement in both magazines, or provide two different creative options targeting audiences in Australia and audiences in New Zealand.
“Initial feedback from advertisers has been very positive. They really appreciate the reach and quality of our audience. It is a rare opportunity for them to target active consumers in two geographical markets.”
Anthony Dennis, editor of Travel + Leisure Australia, will also be editor of the New Zealand extension of the magazine.
“The Australian edition already carries significant content of instant appeal to New Zealand readers, and its New Zealand extension will have the same content,” Dennis said.
“New Zealand is a fantastic travel destination for Australians and New Zealanders alike and, as nations, we share a similar esprit de corp towards travel. We have been committed to New Zealand as a destination since our launch two years ago, as evidenced by the large number of features we’ve published on our near neighbour. We are also already planning our second Australia and New Zealand issue for next year.”
Travel + Leisure Australia + New Zealand will be available to New Zealand American Express cardmembers from the December 2007 issue, on sale in Australia on November 19.
This also means that New Zealand travel agents can use Travel + Lesiure as a highly effective independent sales tool with their clients or even as a great thank you gift for clients’ booking with them.
