TravelMole Time Traveller: Tony Seaman of Attraction World
Tony Seaman, group sales and marketing director for Attraction World is this week’s Time Traveller, sponsored by HarpWallen.
What was your first job in travel?
I was a clerical officer for a major car ferry company. Basically I answered the phones and made tea.
What has been the high point of your career?
Completing the MBO of Attraction World; I’m very proud of what we have been able to achieve over the last few years.
What was the low point?
I was attending the ABTA conference in Acapulco when I received the news of my mother’s death. Dreadfully sad compounded by the fact that it took three days to get home due to flight availability.
Who or what has been the greatest influence on your career?
My 10 years at Holiday Autos, where I ended up as managing director. Another great company and a fantastic learning experience.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
Probably still in travel, but hopefully spending a bit more time on the beach!
What would you be doing now if you weren’t in travel?
I think I’m so lucky to have found this industry; I’m really not sure what I would have done other than something in the entertainment industry. I’d probably be a bingo caller!
