Travelodge opens two West Midlands hotels
Travelodge has opened its first hotels in Walsall and Solihull and is actively looking for five more hotel sites across the West Midlands region.
It is seeking locations in Coventry, one in the city centre, and in Edgbaston/Selly Oak, Worcester and Wolverhampton.
The budget chain said it is continuing to expand in the region despite the uncertainty and economic pressures caused by Brexit.
The two new hotels represent an investment of £15 million for third party investors, create 40 new jobs and boost Travelodge’s portfolio to 580 hotels, which includes 25 properties in the West Midlands.
The Walsall Travelodge (pictured here) is a purpose-built hotel with 60 rooms and is close to the railway station.
The Solihull Travelodge has 82 rooms, including 16 of the brand’s SuperRooms, plus an on-site restaurant, Bar Cafe, and free parking.
It is the second hotel in the West Midlands to offer SuperRooms, the other being the Birmingham Bull Ring Travelodge.
