Travelodge to work more closely with TripAdvisor

Friday, 14 Nov, 2013 0

Travelodge has become the first UK hotel chain to enable guests to write and submit reviews to TripAdvisor as they complete guest satisfaction surveys.

TripAdvisor said that by incorporating  its Review Collection Solution into Travelodge’s customer satisfaction surveys, the budget hotel chain stood to see a significant increase in the number and freshness of its reviews on TripAdvisor – two of the key elements affecting hotels’ Popularity Index ranking.

Travelodge has launched a new room design as part of a £223 million spend on its brand and, due to TripAdvisor’s renovations policy, older Travelodge reviews submitted before the renovations were made will be removed.

Travelodge CEO Grant Hearn said: "We are delighted to be working with TripAdvisor; not only are we gaining further insight from our customers regarding our product and services but we are also reinforcing our commitment to be open and transparent."

Hearn said the number of click-throughs from the TripAdvisor site to the Travelodge site had more than doubled to more than 1,000 a week.

"Our partnership with TripAdvisor plays a fundamental role in helping us to communicate our £223 million brand investment and will be a key communication tool when we re-launch our brand next year.," he added.

Severine Philardeau, TripAdvisor VP Global Partnerships, added: "This is the first time a hotel group has embraced TripAdvisor reviews as such an integral part of their renovation plans, placing the customer feedback they collect through TripAdvisor’s review collection solution at the heart of their operations, from product and marketing, through to staff and service."
