Travelport announces agreement with Frontier
Travelport Corporate Solutions announced at the National Travel Association’s annual conference that it reached a new agreement with Frontier Airlines.
Newly-named President David Falter told TravelMole at the conference in Orlando, Florida: “Our agreement with Frontier to provide business travel discounts is something we’d like to see more often in the future.”
The agreement provides discounts of up to 10% off Frontier’s published rates when travelers book through Travelport. The agreement makes Travelport one of only two business-travel providers offering Frontier discounts to customers who use the company’s “end-to-end” package of online booking.
Mr Falter has a highly technical background and was previously executive director of the Center for Technology Commercialization at Northwestern University.
He said of his goals for Travelport: “My vision is to combine a super and highly competent core of human with great processes and great innovation.”
Technology has been the major driving force in the travel business, he said, but that has not always lead to better margins.
Mr Falter thinks there will continue to be a winnowing of companies and that companies will continue to get larger.
He points out that one of Travelport’s major advantages in the future is its association with Cendant, and the ability to tap into their worldwide travel distribution capabilities.
He said Travelport’s easy-to-use products and 24/7 customer service enables corporate travel managers at mid- and large-sized companies to save on travel fees, while at the same time improve their policy control systems.
