Travelport MD Simon Ferguson takes on new region

Travelport has extended the brief of UK & Ireland managing director Simon Ferguson to cover the Nordics.

He will lead the existing management team, which consists of Anita Wagner Feddersen, Peter Cramon and Jette Kongensgaard, in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

The new arrangement means that Travelport’s Nordic customers will benefit from the further support of the centralized functions and product team based in the UK headquarters, said the technology firm.

Ferguson has over 20 years of experience in the travel, technology and digital media sectors and joined Travelport in 2011.

Mathias Andersson, who was formerly regional manager for Travelport Nordics, has moved to the newly created role of chief operating officer at the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Hotelzon.

Ferguson said: "The Nordics is one of the most exciting European travel regions, with digitally savvy consumers, suppliers and intermediaries and an optimistic outlook for both leisure and business travel.  "There is huge opportunity for Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform, and I look forward to driving our business and fuelling the growth of our customers."
