Traveltek expands on back of client wins
Online technology supplier Traveltek is to open a London office before the end of the year and recruit 10 more staff to assist with business expansion.
The move follows more client wins across both the dynamic packaging and cruise sectors.
New clients in cruise include Hayes Travel, Wexas, First Choice Holidays, Holiday Hypermarket and Low Cost Holiday Group. Traveltek is to supply United Co-op, together with Future Travel and Cumbria Cruise, with dynamic packaging and cruise solutions.
The jobs will come from newly created positions across the board as Ross MacDonald, formerly of Teletext Holidays, joins as national sales manager, following the promotion of Frank Docherty to sales director.
Five more positions have been created within the development team, while a new marketing and PR position will compliment a series of media deals secured for next year.
Two new project managers are also to be recruited to assist in after sales client care. The in-house operations team, headed by former Galileo manager Kirsty Orr will add another two staff.
Traveltek opened an office last year at East Midlands Airport and is due to open the London location before the end of the year.
Managing director Kenny Picken said: “We have some very significant expansion in our client base over the last four years, not least this year where we have grown by more than 80%.
“With these new contract wins, plus others we can’t speak about just yet, I fully expect the company to double in size next year.
“The travel industry has taken note of the very serious advantage we can offer them in the online sector with not just the best technology but back up, support and constant evolution to the products, which all make a very compelling proposition.”
