Traveltek to concentrate exclusively on Internet technologies
Travel solutions provider Traveltek announced today that it has sold its interests in computer and network services and will now focus on Internet and software development.
The company said it has sold its computer and network services to the NCS GROUP, a national company with a technical service infrastructure.
Traveltek said its focus will now be exclusively within the areas of Internet and software development, concentrating on new products and in particular commission earning ‘value add’ opportunities for travel agents.
Traveltek managing director Kenny Picken said: “We started our life as an innovative travel technology company and the sale of our computer and network services division enables us to concentrate on the things we do best.
“We have been working on some very promising projects in the last few months and have secured a major partnership in world travel and will be launching the first exciting phase on October 1st. Its great news for all our travel agency clients with good revenue opportunities they have not had access to before”.
“The Internet has clearly come of age, with many of the agents traditional booking tools now only available via a web connection and this clearly represents major changes in our industry and in turn presents great potential for those agents who are willing to adapt and mould their businesses to take advantage of the new wave of commission opportunities that lie ahead.”
Traveltek said it will announce several new product initiatives throughout the last quarter of the year, each one “presenting additional commission opportunities for travel agents”.
