Trendiest London hotels to be bought by Middle Eastern investors
Three of London's trendiest hotels, the Sanderson, St Martins Lane and the newest, the W Hotel are set to be taken over by Middle Eastern investors, according to a report in The Times.
The luxury 192-room W hotel in Leicester Square, which only opened in February, is already a popular celebrity hang-out.
Situated on the site of the former Swiss Centre, it was put up for sale shortly before it opened by Irish property developer McAleer & Rushe. It is believed to be on the market for £200m.
It is understood that a Qatari investment house is seeking to buy the hotel. Qatar's ruling Al Thani family has already invested heavily in British property including Harrods.
A second Middle Eastern investor is believed to have offered a total of £195m for both the 150-room Sanderson Hotel and the 204-room St Martins Lane, which were put up for sale in April
